It seemed good...
Ok, so I've been trying to lose weight since the beginning of the year. I am down quite a bit--although it's taken awhile--and I still have 6 lbs. to my goal. (So close and yet so far--I've been a yo-yo for the last 10 years and never have reached that goal yet.) I was feeling pretty good about that today when I stepped on the scale, but then realized that I'm EXACTLY 20 lbs. heavier than my wedding day!!! OUCH! Well, I just chalk it up to a happy marriage, and having a kid! :-) I'll keeping working for the last 6...

6 more pounds. . .I'm sure it feels like you're never going to get there, but also like you've done the impossible! How awesome for you that you're doing so well. When I saw you last, I remembered thinking how great you looked, and that I didn't remember ever seeing you that thin. You look amazing and even though you may be 20 up from where you were 19 years ago, you look awesome and should be so proud of yourself! You're an inspiration! I've joined Weight Watchers again. Time for me to get within 20 pounds of my wedding weight - mine was only 3 years ago!
Oh my, isn't this an age old problem for pretty much EVERY woman on the face of the earth!! No matter what, it's always those last few lbs that are the bear. I am still struggling with the last 6 or so lbs from the baby weight. To be honest, I haven't worked out one single time to do anything about it, so if I just made the time (oh yea, in ALL my free time) to do something, I am sure it would be a lot easier. But, here I am a month away from our beach vacation and sad to say I won't be sportin' my "hot mama" bikini...but rather my much more practical mommy tankini. Oh well. Maybe one of these days I'll have the time & energy. At least I have my "bubbley personality" to keep me going. Keep up the good work to all, we'll get there eventually!
Well, it's actually been 18 years, but at this point, it's all the same! :-) I do feel good about what's accomplished and it was just startling to realize that I could have even been THAT thin!!! Geez, and to think that while trying on wedding dresses my mom actually said to me, "that one kind of makes you look fat!" I'd take THAT kind of fat any day!!! ha ha Em, don't worry--you look AMAZING for having twins 9 months ago!! MAN! And, nothing wrong with tankinis--just think of it as being a "modest" mom! :-) Ah, yes...the "bubbly personality!!!" You guys were a scream on Friday!!!
I obviously can't do math!!! Sorry!
That's ok, Jen. Like I said, 18-19, whatever. You stop really counting after awhile and realize it's just great to make it that far!! And, don't worry about doing math--sometimes you don't want to! I was trying to calculate my different weights since being married and discovered that at one point, I was up 54 lbs. from my wedding day!!! And I was NOT pregnant at that time! That made the 20 lbs. seem fine! hee hee
Yeah, I'm up A LOT since our wedding. I know, though, that I'm a stress eater. And I think after both these losses, I put on 5 pounds or more. And after losing Matt's dad, it was 15. So - anyway, I've got a long way to go, but I'm going to my first Weight Watcher meeting today!!! Our anniversary is in a week and 2 days, I wonder if I could drop 2 or 3 by then!!!
Oh, it's so easy to pack the weight on. Wish it came off just as fast!! I am also a stress eater. And a happy eater. A sad eater--basically ANY emotion!! :-( I'm hoping to get these last 6 lbs. off yet this month, we'll see. It's going very slowly...Good luck with your meetings! Support always helps.
the one thing about weight loss that's good is that it seems to come off faster at the beginning, which I guess is really good when you're starting out to keep you going. However, when you have that last little bit - like your 6 pounds - it seems like it takes forever to take it off! Not fair! You've worked your butt off and that last 6 lbs should be a walk in the park!!! Good luck - you've done so good! Keep going!
Oh - and I'm an all-emotion eater, too! Understand that! Trying to curb that problem!
